Down the Thurr Range

Inspired by this mild winter, I have always taken great appreciation in the classic winter fantasy landscape. Perspective is to point north, with a quiet cottage, perhaps a family or hermit lies before the unknown and endless mountain range beyond.

With my series of environment concepts and landscapes, i wish to slowly world build. A good landscape scene can leave one in wonder of the vast world which resigns beyond the edges of the picture, which I have sought to capture. I tried to think of how my landscape beckons one to wonder what is beyond rather than focus what is only seen.

With the help of blenderkit and the botanique addon, and scratch modeling the fantasy cottage through several references I am proud to add another piece to my portfolio.

This landscape study has also put my composition and lighting skills to the test, as well as gain a deeper understanding of both color theory and the node systems in Blender's compositor.
